Conserva Irrigation is proud to partner with the Wyland Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the world’s ocean, waterways, and marine life. The foundation encourages environmental awareness through education programs, public arts projects, and community events.
Founded in 1993 by environmental artist Wyland (best known for his monumental series of 100 life-sized marine life murals) the Wyland Foundation has helped millions of children and families around the nation rediscover the importance of healthy oceans and water ways through public art programs, live events, and classroom science education. Because Conserva was founded on the premise of water conservation and environmental responsibility, joining forces with the Wyland Foundation is a perfect fit.
In 2017, Conserva Irrigation locations nationwide donated a total of $17,500 to the Wyland Foundation. This year will be even greater, as we’re committing a starting base of $10,000 to Wyland, and with the addition of 25 new Conserva locations we anticipate even more of an impact toward the advancement of promoting, protecting, and preserving our most precious resource — water.
In conjunction with our partner in irrigation components, Toro, Conserva Irrigation is proud to once again sponsor the Wyland National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation, which is a friendly competition between cities across the United States to see who can be the most “water wise.” Mayors across the country will challenge their residents to conserve water, energy, and other natural resources through a series of informative, easy-to-use pledges online. The cities with the highest participation win some awesome prizes. In 2016, Conserva Irrigation of the Twin Cities supported Andover, Minnesota, and they won first place in their city’s size category!
While it’s called the “Mayor’s Challenge,” your town’s mayor doesn’t have to participate for your city to win — every person makes a difference! For more information on this year’s challenge, visit www.mywaterpledge.com to learn how you can take the pledge and participate.
Environmental responsibility is very important to us, but it’s only one of our three core values, along with professionalism and innovation. Read more about how all of them work together on our core values page. Conserva is dedicated to being the best irrigation company in every way possible.
